Network Utilization Graph
The graph to the right is a real-time sampling of our network activity over the past 24 hours. The graph auto-updates every five minutes. In order to understand the graph, it is important to note that this usage is from the perspective of the MCNC end of our connection to our upstream provider, MCNC:
The blue line, labeled Outbound Bits per Second, represents our bandwidth usage from the Internet to the Durham campus network
The green area, labeled Inbound Bits per Second, represents our bandwidth usage from the Durham campus network to the Internet
The red line is a rolling 95th percentile of the largest of the inbound and outbound graphs; that is, 95% of the time, our bandwidth usage in the preceding 24 hours is less than that shown by the red line
Network Latency Graph
The graph to the right is a real-time sampling of the round-trip transit time to equipment at the edge of our network over the last 24 hours. The graph auto-updates every five minutes.
The colored dots represent the median transit time of a sequence of 20 pings, while the shaded bars in the background indicate the range of transit times for the sequence of pings. The color of the dots represent the number of packets lost in the sequence.
A mauve vertical bar in a particular interval indicates that no data is available for that test interval.
The sequence is repeated every five minutes.
